The effect of violence is poetically drawn in Judith Thompson’s tale of a child ghost in search of her killer. Her murder created a “butterfly effect,” leaving the very community itself haunted by sadness, cruelty and violence. The only hope for redemption may lie in the small hands of the one who searches for vengeance.
